I'll stamp all over 'credible fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" the American and "defeat" the American as the combatants came face-to-face to build hype for next month's bout.

Former twice world boxing king Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I'm going to injure his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to really want to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Civil Exchange

In spite of these statements, a composed Joshua and social media star Paul - typically known for his theatrics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul rather attacked former Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, targeted UK rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of declaring he will damage his opponent, Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he remarked.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has primarily fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Still, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's largest commercial attractions, regularly earning massive paydays.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in round four or five and claimed he would stop the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul participated in the customary face-off, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it highlighted just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is actually going ahead.
