Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master Brennan Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with rich lore, a colorful mix of characters, and a thrilling plot showcasing divine entities, fiends, and sinister influences increasing in strength within the urban setting.
Note: Spoilers for the latest installment of this adventure lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Revealed
The latest chapter concluded with a huge suspense moment and introduced the premier party of heroes who will branch out from the central cast to begin their separate journey, separate from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table includes the determined fighter (played by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
With a large ensemble, it was obvious from the start that having everyone at one table would be impossible.
That’s why, the initial installments of this story serve as an Introduction, connecting the personal journeys before branching into three separate parties: Fighters, Strategists, and Explorers.
What Defines the Combat Party
According to the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for participants who enjoy a typically action-packed battle-oriented gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are rare.
Initially, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander might seem out of place, but the actions of the third episode show why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the combat party.
Motivations for Departure
To begin with, the team understands precisely where to head next after a violent first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose passing started the narrative’s action—manipulated the foes for his own means, entering the hidden lair, attacking the rogue, and swiping all the powerful objects to dispose of.
The traitor then cleared his liabilities and fled to a secure base in the remote area, north of the city, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each member has a personal reason to exit Dol-Makjar:
- The rogue, as the companion and closest confidant, wants vengeance.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in Timmony and advises that it is a hostile environment.
- Tyranny and The healer, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to kill the target and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- But, their status as key figures in House Halovar could help the team access places they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, The grateful character pledged a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his deliverance and will now follow him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are hunted by the rulers that control the setting for a multiple motives, making remaining behind dangerous:
- The rogue and The character are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and The cleric turned against the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- Teor is targeted for elimination by the family.
This results in them few options but to journey toward the remote area in search of Casimir.
